Partitioned Query for MySQL is a .NET managed component that brings the high performance and scalability of distributed partitioned queries to the MySQL database server. With this powerful, innovative component, .NET developers can bring a new level of performance and scalability to their data warehousing, reporting, business analytics, and business intelligence applications at significantly reduced costs when compared to developing similar applications using the Enterprise versions of the Oracle, IBM DB2, or Microsoft SQL Server databases.
Database partitioning and distributed partitioned queries can bring significant performance and manageability benefits to large data warehousing applications. It is not unusual for partitioning to improve the performance of certain queries by an order of magnitude. And database partitioning can also significantly reduce data load and backup times as well. The Enterprise versions of the Oracle, IBM DB2, and Microsoft SQL Server databases all support database partitioning - but at a significant cost in terms of software licenses. Now, with the Partitioned Query for MySQL component, .NET developers can bring the power and scalability of distributed partitioned queries to the affordable, increasingly popular MySQL database.
The Partitioned Query for MySQL component is licensed on a per-developer basis, with a royalty-free runtime for applications developed to run within your company. If you use the component to develop applications that will run outside your company, then a Server Runtime License is required for each web or application server that the application is run on.
